What legacy will you leave? This past Saturday, a dear friend lost her daughter. The daughter had been sick and in the hospital for weeks.
My friend was at the hospital daily from morning until night. She enlisted prayer support more than once a day from all of us on our prayer loop and on social media.
She taught us so much about patience, perseverance, and purpose. She has been a tremendous role model for us through that long difficult journey. Her faith and prayer life have taught us valuable lessons.
The way she coached her daughter to breathe her last earthly breath and her first heavenly breath is nothing short of a miracle. Could I have done that? Could you have done that?
What a legacy she is leaving from one end of the earth to the other through that journey with her precious daughter.
I sat outside on the patio Sunday afternoon and reflected on the things that have happened in my life.
I asked myself if I’m all God meant me to be, and if I’m doing all God called me to do. I wondered what kind of legacy I’ll leave behind. Will I be a role model to someone? What will I teach others about faith
Have you ever asked yourself those questions? Have you prayed about them? Have you journaled about them?
Why not make an appointment with God this week? Have your journal, Bible, and pen ready. Remember that when you ask God questions, you need to allow sufficient time to listen for his answers. This is not the time to rush.
Forget about your cell phone and texting during that appointment with God. It is sacred and worth the investment of your time.
Have a wonderful adventure with the Lord this week and every week as you work on the legacy you’ll leave.
Psalm 37:18: “The Lord knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will remain forever.”
Prayer: Dear God, no matter what happens in my life, I don’t want to waste it. Please help me leave a legacy. Amen.
