3 Lessons from Jennifer Rothschild for Women
Three lessons from Jennifer Rothschild for women come from her life experience. Since I’m not physically blind, I asked myself what lessons I could learn from her. Perhaps you’re not blind either and asked the same question. Let me answer in three lessons from Jennifer Rothschild for women.
The first lesson from Jennifer Rothschild for women is that she went blind as a teenager and asked for help.
The first lesson from Jennifer for women is that she went blind as a teenager and asked for help. She was told she would end up totally blind but didn’t give up. In short, God taught her to see that living a life based on faith rather than sight focused on the unseen, the eternal.
With humility and transparency, she accepted help to be physically safe. Her daddy and younger brothers served as her first helpers.
Whether you and I are divorced, widowed, married or not, we may not be blind, but we have a special need or lack a specific skill. We learn to ask for help. I don’t climb ladders anymore to clean the gutters of my home. A contractor recommended I get the gutters covered. I found a company to do just that.

You and I may need to be part of a Bible study, a spiritual growth group, or a book club that sees our circumstances from an eternal view rather than a temporal one.
Second lesson, Jennifer Rothschild became an author, speaker, recording artist and an advocate for people with special needs.
Jennifer didn’t make excuses for her special needs but learned to work with them. She’s an author, speaker, Bible study teacher, podcaster, wife, and mom. She graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1986 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Communication. So far, she has written 19 books and Bible studies, and recorded some music CDs. Her first book, Lessons I Learned in the Dark, has been a best-seller along with Me, Myself and Lies: What to Say When You Talk to Yourself. The book that explores the hard questions of faith is God is Just Not Fair: Finding Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense, and her most “giftable” book is the beautifully designed, 66 Ways God Loves You: Experience God’s Love for You in Every Book of the Bible.
What specific skills do you have? #blessing #purpose Share on XRegardless of our marital status, you and I may not have an interest in becoming an author, a speaker, or a recording artist. Nevertheless, we have specific skills and a lack of others. For example, my longtime local friend has her own full-time business because of her technological skills. We don’t get together often because of her schedule and mine. When we do, she rescues me with her “techie” skills. As she works on her first book, I help her with my writing skills.
Jennifer Rothschild travels around the globe.
Jennifer travels around the globe. She has learned not to let her special needs stop her travel. She’s been a featured speaker for the nation’s largest conference for women, Women of Faith. She’s also been on the platform with Women of Joy, Lifeway Women Live, and Extraordinary Women.
The Today Show, Dr. Phil, ABC’s Good Morning America, and the Billy Graham Television Special, plus other national TV and radio programs including Hour of Power, Life Today, and Family Life Radio have featured Jennifer Rothschild. Her life story and message have been the cover story of numerous national publications including Today’s Christian Woman, Virtue magazine, Becoming Family magazine, HomeLife magazine, and others.
You and I don’t have to travel around the world with baggage and boarding passes, nor do we have to be on countless TV and radio interviews. We can serve neighbors and our community by taking a home-cooked meal to a sick person, delivering groceries to one who cannot drive, or by communicating with others through a phone call, an email, or some other means of connection. The person may not always say thank you but may express gratitude in another way—a smile, a hug, or a thumbs up.
