God Will Answer Your Prayers by Yvonne Ortega
God will answer your prayers today. Here are three steps you can follow to find out for yourself.
First, God will answer your prayers when you persist.
I remind God of my prayer requests morning, noon, and night. I’m as persistent as the widow in the parable in Luke 18:1–8. She kept going to the judge with the same request, “Grant me justice against my adversary” (Luke 18:3).
The judge got tired of hearing from the widow and answered her request. Jesus told the disciples in Luke 18: 7–8, “And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.”
The Evil One, the enemy of your soul, works overtime to discourage, distract, and deceive you. He wants you to believe that God will never answer your prayers.
Remember the widow. God will answer your prayers when you persist.
Second, confess your sins.
Maybe like me, you want God to answer your prayers before you ask. I look at the situation and think, God knows the situation already, why doesn’t he do something? I confess that in the past I became impatient and angry. If I feel those negative feelings creep in, I tell God, “I’m sorry for my negative attitude. Please forgive my sins of impatience and anger.”
God graciously forgives me, and he’ll forgive you too.
God will answer your prayers when you praise & worship him.
I turn to praise and worship. The first time I praised and worshiped God, I wondered why I should do it, especially ahead of time. After all, God hadn’t yet answered my prayer. I thought I should wait until God answered my prayer request.
I changed my mind because of Psalm 29:2. It says, “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.” This verse didn’t tell me to worship the Lord only if he answered my prayer.

Luke 11: 9–10:
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Prayer:
God, while I wait for answers, please help me follow these steps and repeat Luke 11:9–10. Help me to be as persistent as the widow was. Sometimes, I ask once and want an answer before I finish the prayer. If any sins stand between me and you, I confess them right now. Lead me to praise and worship you in advance of your answer to my prayers. Amen.
