Lost your tranquility? What can you do to regain it? Perhaps you lost your tranquility when you cleaned a late loved one’s room? Maybe you lost it when you suffered a miscarriage and left the hospital with empty arms. Perhaps you lost a job or a home in the past six months.
Whatever your circumstances may be, your level of tranquility may have dropped to the danger zone.
When I received a diagnosis of cancer, I couldn’t eat or sleep the first twenty-four hours. I cried most of the night, and the next day, my eyes were bloodshot and swollen. If you received a diagnosis of a life-threatening illness, you may have felt shaken and lost your tranquility too.
If you’re a caregiver, you may think that you’ll never regain your peace.
What can you do to regain tranquility? One of my friends emphasizes the need to inhale slowly from the diaphragm and then exhale slowly from the nose.

One of my acquaintances advocates hiking. She says when she gets away and hikes, it helps to calm her mind and body. She says the change of scenery also reduces her stress level.
