Anxiety, depression, and stress from the loss of countless loved ones can break our spirit. Add to that pain: tax season, extreme weather changes, and father wounds from childhood or adulthood. Where is God in these situations,? What kind of character does he have? How does a heavenly Father differ from an earthly one? Becky Harling answers those questions in her 6-week Bible study: Our Father: A Study of the Lord’s Prayer. Moody Publishers published the book on April 4, 2023. You can find the book online and at your local bookstore.
How does a heavenly Father differ from an earthly one? #heavenlyfather, #earthlyfather Share on XOur Father A Journey that draws you into worship
If you would like a journey that draws you into worship, author Becky Harling draws you closer to the Lord in her 6-week Bible study. Like me, you may have memorized the Our Father as a child.
Yet, what does it mean to live the Lord’s Prayer? How do we do it, and what benefits do we receive in the here and now, not just in eternity? Becky takes one word at a time of the Lord’s Prayer and helps us understand what it means in Greek and Hebrew and in the context. With application questions, prayer, and music recommendations, she draws us into worship in spirit and truth.
The Lord’s Prayer A Study that brings you closer to the Lord
I highly recommend you buy a copy of Our Father: A Study of the Lord’s Prayer and one for a friend. Go through the study together to find answers to your questions. Encourage and support each other as you draw closer to the Lord in spirit and truth. Better yet, start a group. Watch in awe as you find freedom, forgiveness, and victory in worship and adoration of our heavenly Father.
I have completed the first week of six and look forward to the next five weeks of the study. I journal, write my own prayers, and listen to the recommended music. That study starts my day in a positive mood. It makes me look forward to reviewing the Bible verse. Each evening, I end the day in thanksgiving for the blessings of that day.
