What Will You Do This Summer for Your Wellbeing? What will you do this summer for your wellbeing? I look forward to summer. Don’t you? Sunshine and warmer temperatures make me feel better. With extended daylight hours, I can journal at the beach and take long walks there. The ocean waves bring me joy and relaxation.

For your wellbeing, you can walk at the beach too or take hikes in the mountains. That time in nature can provide you the opportunity to think about past hurts and those who offended you in order to resolve that pain.

Whether your challenge or life transition is a life-threatening illness, the loss of a loved one, or financial hardship, time alone outside is conducive to journaling and meditation.

Perhaps you feel anger, bitterness, and resentment toward someone who hurt you or your family. You can work through those feelings this summer not for the other person but for your own good, for your wellbeing.

Maybe a married leader in your church or someone else you looked up to has committed adultery with another married person. That infidelity has crushed two families and those of you who once respected and sought that leader’s advice. You feel not only disappointment but also betrayal.

The shock and heartache of an offense can shake you to the core. Use the warmth of summer to restore your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing through forgiveness for your own good.

Mark 11:25 says, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Prayer: Dear God, help me come to you with the hurts in my life. Help me forgive for my wellbeing. Amen.
